Sai and I met up with Mika to hang out and do some shooting a few days ago.  I shoot people all the times, but this was the first time with a model...and one who really didn't need a lot of direction, at that.  Sai showed me a few different ways to light a scene, using only a softbox and grid, and now I feel much less intimidated with the fact that set ups don't necessarily have to be elaborate and involved a bunch of lighting and reflectors.
